I posted this on my personal facebook page for Coming Out day, and it got such a good response I thought I should share it here as well. I don't particularly like labels, but the term "pansexual" probably comes closest.
Spirit & Glitch (and me) are all about fluidity - moving past boxes and labels and owning your right to be who you are in the moment.
Consistency and labels can never contain or fully describe human sexuality. In my experience it's more potent and true to tune into the energies underneath and follow them. They'll lead you more interesting places.
Happy national coming out day!
My sexuality is fluid, and seems to pull more along the lines of archetypes and energies than the duality of "bro are you into dudes or chicks". I'm often strongly drawn to people who are forces of nature. Understanding and owning this, and experiencing it evolve has been a long, strange road for me.
My sexual energy mostly seems to draw towards women, but I fundamentally believe in letting it express itself how it wants and evolve unconditionally.
It also seems to point itself towards whatever nobody else wants to look at or acknowledge - so, telling it that it can't be attracted to ______ is a pretty reliable formula for creating attraction there, or at least to defying that norm to make a point.
I believe in owning both my innate masculinity and my innate femininity in their fullness, and deepening my embodiment of both of them. I work on this devotionally. When I notice myself shying away from something, I consider it an indicator of an interesting place to explore.
I don't buy into mainstream stories about what "a man" is or should be. I consider most of those narratives to reflect a failure of leadership and a lack of imagination, and I want to rip them to shreds by embodying their transcendence. There are fuller forms of masculinity.
If you want a simplifying word or a label for that, you're missing the point.
And you probably have some beautiful experiences waiting for you, hidden in the fabric of reality, should you choose to explore them ❤️
